Cutting Through the Bullcrap -- The Truth About Earning Money Online

It's been a few days since my last post and in that time I've done a lot of research and thinking about the various methods to earn money online. Between pop-ups, traffic exchanges, link rotators and autosurfs -- it can get confusing. So far most of the traffic I have generated to this site has been through the use of TrafficG and WebMasterQuest. In the period of maybe 4 hours of actual "work" I generated over 1000 unique visitors here. The problem is that in those 1000 visits I only had 3 referrals to 3 different programs, and all of those referrals and now inactive. So is the solution just more unique visitors? I think my next step is trying out region targeting; where you only advertise to those from a specific region so you reach a better audience. For example, say you own a t-shirt company that sells t-shirts with funny sayings that are in English. It would be much more beneficial if your audience was from an English-speaking country.

I've had some success with pop-up advertising in the past. Most of the programs online though, for whatever type of money-making scheme, are scams. I remember way back when AllAdvantage was getting popular and I thought they were a big scam. However, I tried their product, referred a few users and before I knew it I had checks coming to me via snail-mail that were legit. However that company has since died, but here's the good news -- some of the staff from AllAdvantage have come together with a few other brilliant minds to, in a sense, revamp AllAdvantage to succeed where it failed. This company is now called AGLOCO and looks very promising. Within 30 minutes of signing up I was able to get 2 referrals under me. Right now the program is still in a sort of "beta" mode but it is strongly encouring it's members to build their referrals up for the release of the viewbar to maximize profits.

My original dreams of someday managing a blog that generates enough revenue to support me financial are still going. No, I haven't made a substantial amount of money yet, but as the old saying goes with affiliate programs...one man with 1000 referrals still falls short of that one man with one good referral. This old saying definitely holds water.

Along with my profile, this post should give you a pretty good idea about who I am. My name is Justin Skidmore. I'm 20 years old from Pennsylvania and I currently work at a swimming pool store and at a local internet service provider(ISP). I also enjoy mathematics and recently have acquired a little taste for literature. Besides work I like to hang out with my friends and get in a little trouble sometimes.

300 The Movie

Yesterday I went and saw the movie 300. The film is an adapation of the novel by Frank Miller. The movie was directed by Zach Snyder with Frank Miller as the executive producer and as a consultant to the film. It is rated R and was released on March 9th, 2007. I thought that besides the film extravagant visuals and special effects the film was pretty weak. If you are in to comic books, or basically any kind of "blood & guts" movie then you might enjoy, but if you are looking for a rich story line and brilliant film, stay away.


While I'm on the topic of movies I happened to watch Borat today. Sacha Baron Cohen plays Borat, a man from a middle-eastern country who comes to America to learn how to fix the economic problems in his country. You might remember Sacha Baron Cohen from The Ali G Show, and the movie Da Ali G Movie. He also played the part of the French rival driver in the movie Talendega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby. I enjoyed the film, and I think that Sacha is hiliarious and has his own specific stytle of comedy.
